Rotating an image
You can rotate an image at preset or custom angles in Edit Mode. You can save the rotation
settings as a preset for future use.
To rotate an image at a custom angle:
1. Do one of the following:
x Open an image in the Viewer, and then click Rotate. The image displays in Edit
Mode.
x In Edit Mode, on the Edit Panel, click Rotate.
2. On the Rotate tab, do one or more of the following:
x Select one of the default orientation options.
x Drag the Straightening slider to the left or right until the image appears
straightened.
x Click the Horizontal or Vertical button, and then use the mouse pointer to draw a
line on the image that you want set as horizontal or vertical.
x Select Crop straightened image if you want to crop the image after it is
straightened.
x Select Preserve straightened image if you do not want to crop the straightened
image. Select the color that you would like to display behind the straightened image
from the Fill color drop-down.
x Select Show grid overlay to display a grid over the image. You may find that the
grid helps you straighten the image and understand how the image will be cropped.
3. Do one of the following:
x Click Apply to apply your changes and set options on another tab in the Rotate/Flip
tool.
x Click Done to apply your changes and close the tool.
x Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the tool.
Flipping an image
You can flip an image both vertically and horizontally in Edit Mode.
To flip an image:
1. In Edit Mode, on the Edit Panel, click Rotate.
2. On the Flip tab, do one or both of the following:
x Click the Horizontal Flip button.
x Click the Vertical Flip button.
