Chapter 8: Multimedia
Embed font subsets: Select this option to embed subsets of all
TrueType and PostScript (Type1) fonts. Click the Settings button to view
the various font embedding options (see "Embedding font subsets" on
page 724).
Current page only: Select this option to export the current page.
Create PDF layers: Select this option to export the document layers in
the PDF. If not selected, all objects export on one layer. If a layer is
hidden, that layer will not export.
Export non-printable objects: Select this option to export objects that
are not printable in the Document Layout palette (see "Setting options in
the palette" on page 86).
Convert all colors to: If activated, the color of all vector, text, and
image objects is converted to RGB or CMYK. If not selected, all objects
retain their original color mode.
Images Resolution: Affects bitmap rendering. Default settings are 72 or 96
dpi. The chosen resolution is applied to all images. We recommend 72 or
96 dpi for online documents. A printed document requires 150 or 300
dpi. You may choose a higher value; however, 300+ dpi produces a
large file size.
Compression: Bitmaps are compressed during export. Choose lossless
(ZIP) or lossy (JPEG) compression. Lossless is appropriate for technical
drawings, illustrations, or cartoons, while JPEG compression is best for
photographs.
JPEG quality: Only active if lossy (JPEG) compression has been
selected. Four quality levels are available: Best, Fine, Good, and Draft.
These options are the same as the ones for Flash Export (see "Flash
Options dialog box" on page 720).
