Key concepts
When you move photos from one computer to another, its a good idea to ensure all of the information about the
photos moves too. This information is called metadata and includes useful data like camera settings, keywords, captions,
ratings, and categories. Keeping the metadata with the photos lets you search photos consistently across computers.
Camera settings,
attributes and other
types of metadata (e.g.
keywords, captions) can
be stored in the photo
itself, and in the database.
Note: When moving data from one computer to another it is always best practice to backup the
data before proceeding.
