Acoustic mode
Test result announcement after a test
In the acoustic mode, when a test result is displayed following a blood glucose test, the meter also
announces it as a series of beeps. The test result is not announced as an entity, but is broken down into
individual digits.
Examples:
The test result 7.6mmol/L is announced as 0 – 7 – decimal point – 6.
Each digit is represented by the corresponding number of beep tones, for example, 4 beep tones for the
number 4 ( ). Zero is represented by 1 long beep tone ( ).
The decimal point of a test result is announced by 1 very short beep tone (
).
Test results which are lower than 0.6mmol/L and are displayed as
are announced acoustically as
0 – 0 – decimal point – 0.
Test results which are higher than 33.3mmol/L and are displayed as
are announced acoustically as
9 – 9 – decimal point – 9.

The test result is announced three times in succession. Each announcement is preceded by 2 short beep
tones (
) as an introduction. Therefore, altogether you hear: test result test result test result.
Symbols, such as
or , which are displayed together with the test result are not announced
acoustically.
If you turn the meter o using the power button (
) while the test result is being announced acoustically,
the announcement is interrupted and 1 long beep tone will sound (
).
