If you use an alcohol wipe, let your finger dry completely before testing. 3. Let arm hang down at side briefly to allow blood flow to fingertip. 4. Grasp finger near area to be pricked and squeeze for three seconds. 5. Keeping hand down, prick side of fingertip and squeeze gently until you get a drop of blood.

Bring the finger and the strip together in a way that is most comfortable for you. The blood will be drawn into the strip automatically. 36 Glucose Testing You may pick up the meter, turn the meter, or move the meter to the edge of the table in order to touch the edge of the strip to the blood drop resting on your finger.

All functions and display elements are tested automatically for about 2 seconds. If a segment is missing from an 8, false readings could result.

The result you have obtained may not be accurate.
