For persons with vision loss – testing blood glucose
2
If any of the above three conditions is not met, you need to re-enter the year, time and date (see Chapter 16).
If the year, time and date are not entered, your future results will be displayed and saved without the time and date.
In this case the test results saved in memory will be numbered consecutively so you can still recognize the order in
which they were saved. Each time the voice unit establishes contact with the meter, it announces that the date and
time are not entered in the meter.
Instead of entering the year, time and date manually, you can have them sent from the meter to the voice unit. Do this
by going to menu 3.1 in the voice unit (see Chapter 12.4.1).
i
A new pair of batteries has enough power for at least 1000 tests or for about a year. If you use the meter in Acoustic
Mode, the batteries will not last as long.
i
When the battery symbol first appears in the display, the batteries are running low. The voice unit announces at this
time: “Meter batteries almost exhausted”. You can perform about 50 more tests. However, we recommend that you
replace the batteries as soon as possible. By then the batteries will have been heavily drained, and variable con-
ditions (cold surroundings) can affect their performance even further.
i
You can make using the meter easier if you use up the test strip drum before changing the batteries. If a partly used
drum remains in the meter while you change the batteries, it may take a long time for the next test strip to be
advanced. Also, the meter can no longer calculate the 90-day use-by date (see Chapter 6). When the test strip drum
has been used up, the voice unit announces: “Meter error End: Drum is empty”.
