For persons with vision loss – testing blood glucose

Did you apply blood to the test strip without delay after the blood drop formed?
Are you sure you did not bend the test strip either before or during application of blood? Are you sure you did not bend or
move the test strip while the test was in progress?
Did you lay the meter down again and line it up with the voice unit in an “L shape within 60 seconds of applying the
blood?
If you did not hear the third beep, did you apply more blood within 25 seconds?
Did you properly hear the announcement from the meter (volume possibly too low)?
Did you perform the test within the correct temperature range (+10°C to +40°C)?
Did you use a test strip drum whose 90-day use-by period had not expired (see Chapter 6)?
Did you observe the proper storage conditions for the meter and the test strip drum (see Chapter 24)?
Has a sighted person regularly checked the meter for soiling (see Chapter 22.1)?
Are you sure no plugs (earpiece or USB) were inserted into or removed from the voice unit during the test?
Are both devices using the same unit of measurement (see Chapter 4)?
Are you sure the infrared connection between the two devices was not disturbed by other infrared signals or by exposure
to direct sunlight (see Chapter 7.3)?
If you have checked these points and still receive error messages or doubt the results are correct, please call the Accu-Chek
customer care line (see Chapter 30).
