For blood collection, the lancing device cap must be on the lancing device. Without the cap, the lancing device can be
neither primed nor triggered. Instead, the lancet is ejected when you press the plunger.
7.1.4 Setting the penetration depth
The best place for obtaining capillary blood is from a fingertip or an earlobe. We recommend using the side of the fingertip, as
this causes the least amount of pain.
To avoid infection, use a new lancet each time you take blood. Using each lancet once only helps ensure virtually
pain-free blood sampling.
You can choose the penetration depth from a possible 11 settings. The higher the
number, the greater the penetration depth. Your chosen penetration depth is visi-
ble in the window.
 Rotate the twist cap until you reach your chosen setting.
Use a low setting (e.g. 3) if you are using the Accu-Chek Softclix
Plus lancing device for the first time.
