7 Testing blood glucose with support from the voice unit
There follows a description of all of the actions needed to perform a blood glucose test. The test described here is performed
in combination with the voice unit.
For details of testing WITHOUT support from the voice unit, see Chapter 17.

The voice unit and meter can only communicate with one another when Acoustic Mode is turned on in the meter. In a
meter packaged together with the voice unit, Acoustic Mode is already pre-set.
To test blood glucose, perform the following steps one after another.
 First turn the voice unit on.
 After that, line up the infrared windows of the
voice unit and meter so they are pointing
towards one another.
 Do not turn the meter on before then. The voice
unit guides you through the procedure.
