If you do not insert a new drum, the following message appears the next time you turn
on the meter:
End and the drum symbol are flashing to indicate that the test strip drum is empty.
The voice unit issues a message drawing your attention to the fact.
Use only new test strips whose aluminium foil (the “silver ends”) is intact. Otherwise you run the risk of obtaining
incorrect results. Incorrect results can cause the wrong therapeutic decision to be taken and so produce serious
adverse health effects.

Handle the test strip drums with care! Only remove the test strip drums from the drum containers when you intend to
use them. The drum container protects the aluminium foil from damage.

There is a label on every drum container. The left-hand portion may be peeled off. On it are two different concentra-
tion tables for Accu-Chek Compact Autocontrol solution. These are only valid for the test strips contained in that
drum. You need the tables to check your meter. You may, for instance, wish to stick the peel-off label in your note-
book. When conducting quality controls always check that the peel-off label with the concentration table belongs to
the test strips that are currently in the meter (see Chapter 20).
