Introduction

Alarm clock function
The meter can remind you to test your blood glucose. You can set an acoustic signal to remind you at up to three different
times. If you are using the meter together with the voice unit, the voice unit can take over this function. In the voice unit you
can set up to six additional alarm times. Altogether, therefore, you can set up to nine different alarm times.
Hypo indicator function
You can turn on a visual as well as an acoustic signal to warn you if your result is unusually low. This prompts you to check
your result carefully to see if you are heading towards a possible hypo (low blood glucose). If you are using the meter together
with the voice unit, the meter takes over this function. The meter warning is then automatically turned off.
Downloading data to a computer
The meter has an infrared window enabling you to download results to a computer running the appropriate software.
Acoustic Mode
Acoustic Mode is pre-set. It must be turned on when you use the meter in combination with the Accu-Chek Voicemate Plus
voice unit.
If the meter is not used together with the voice unit, the meter guides you through the blood glucose testing process using
beep tones; it also outputs the result as a series of beeps.
Persons with vision loss using the meter in Acoustic Mode without the voice unit need a sighted person to instruct
them on how to operate the meter and to assist them with all stages of its operation, e.g. during blood glucose
testing.
