2. Press the lancing device firmly against the chosen puncture site.
3. Press in the plunger as far is it will go. This triggers the lancet, which penetrates the skin.
4. Keep the lancing device pressed against the skin for a few seconds.

For blood collection, the cap must be on the lancing device. Without the cap the lancing device can be neither primed
nor triggered. Instead, the lancet is ejected when you press the plunger.
You can watch the drop of blood form through the clear AST cap. It should be approximately this size:
If the drop is smaller, release the pressure for a few seconds, keeping the device on the skin. Then re-apply pressure until you
obtain a sufficiently large drop of blood.
23.4 Testing blood glucose
1. Press the Test button to turn the meter on.
Shortly afterwards the meter automatically advances a test strip.
2. Wait until the flashing test strip symbol and blood drop symbol are displayed and the
meter beeps (provided the beep tone is turned on).
