23.2 Preparing the lancing device

1. Pull the blue cap from the lancing device.

2. Slide a new lancet into the lancet holder, and push it in until you hear it CLICK into place.

3. Twist off the protective cap from the lancet.

4. Attach the clear AST cap.

The locating notch in the cap must be directly aligned with the locating line on the lanc-

ing device. The cap snaps into place with an audible CLICK.

5. Rotate the cap until you reach your chosen setting.
