For sighted persons: Using the meter and cleaning the devices

The bar code on the test strip drum is damaged. To troubleshoot, see error message E-3.

A meter error has occurred.

 Press the Test button to turn the meter off and then on again. If the error message per-

sists, please contact your local customer support and service centre (see Chapter 31).

During a data download both arrows fail to start flashing. The meter turns itself off automati-

cally after 5 minutes. The PC, handheld computer or the Accu-Chek Smart Printer System

also displays an error message.

 A download error occurred.

 Start the download again.

 A strong light source is too close to the two infrared windows.

 Move away from the light source and start the download again.

 The infrared windows are too far apart or not properly pointing toward one another.

 Reduce the distance between the two infrared ports to 10-20 cm and position them so

they are pointing towards one another. Start the download again.


