This message/symbol
appears ...
and means:
If you inserted the second or third drum from a pack, press the S button. The meter uses
the bar code from the preceding drum. The drum and bottle symbols flash in the display. The
meter requests you to perform a quality control check. You may use all 17 test strips for test-
ing. The drum symbol continues to flash in the display until you have inserted a new drum.
If you inserted a test strip drum from an individual pack, you can no longer use this drum.
Insert a new drum.
All test strip drums from the same pack have a bar code that is valid for this pack only. Do
not code the meter with test strip drums from other packs. If the test strips and bar code
do not belong together, inaccurate blood glucose results may be obtained. Test strip drums
from the same pack have the same lot number. Compare the lot numbers. These are
printed on the label of the test strip drum next to the symbol.
The test strip drum does not rotate.
Press the Test button to turn the meter off. Open the drum compartment and press the red
drum release button. Close the drum compartment again.
The meter rotates the drum and reads the bar code. The drum symbol and bottle symbol
then flash in the display. The 90-day use-by period will no longer be properly calculated
for this drum. Perform a quality control check. You may use all the test strips remaining in
the drum. The drum symbol continues to flash in the display until you have inserted a new
drum.
