appears ...
and means:
 The bar code information from the test strip drum has been lost.
 Press the Test button to turn the meter off. Open and close the drum compartment.
The meter then rotates the drum and reads the bar code. The drum symbol and the bottle
symbol flash in the display when the next test is performed. Perform a quality control
check. You may use all the test strips remaining in the drum. The 90-day use-by period
will no longer be properly calculated for this drum. The drum symbol continues to flash in
the display until you have inserted a new drum.
 The bar code on the test strip drum is damaged.
 If you inserted the first drum from a pack, remove the drum from the meter and return it to
its container. Insert the second drum from the same pack in the meter and use all 17 test
strips. When it is time to replace the drum, insert the first drum with the damaged bar
code. When the error message is displayed again, press the S button. The meter uses the
bar code from the preceding drum. The drum and bottle symbols flash in the display. The
meter requests you to perform a quality control check. You may use all 17 test strips for
testing. The drum symbol continues to flash in the display until you have inserted a new
drum.

