13 Error messages from the meter
Message text Cause Remedy
While the voice unit and meter are in
contact with one another
Saved error message (Menu 5.1)
Meter error E 2: Drum bar
code information is lost or
bar code is damaged.
The bar code information
saved from the test strip
drum being used has been
lost or the bar code is/was
damaged.
Press the Test button to turn the
meter off. Open and close the drum
compartment.
If the error message is repeated the
next time you test, the bar code is
damaged.
Press the Test button to turn the
meter off.
If you have not yet eliminated the
error:
Press the Test button to turn the
meter off. Open and close the drum
compartment.
If the error message is repeated the
next time you test, the bar code is
damaged.
Press the Test button to turn the
meter off.
If you inserted the fi rst drum from a pack, remove the drum from the meter
and return it to its container. Insert another drum from the same pack in the
meter and use all 17 test strips. When it is time to replace the drum, insert the
fi rst drum with the damaged bar code. When the error message is announced,
press the S button on the meter. The meter uses the bar code from the pre-
ceding drum. If you inserted the second or third drum from a pack: Press the S
button. The meter uses the bar code from the preceding drum. If you inserted
a test strip drum from a single-drum pack, you cannot use this drum. Insert
a new drum. Further information on this error message is contained in the
User’s Manual in Chapter 21.
