12.6.3 Download error messages stored in the meter (5-3)
If the meter and voice unit were not in contact with one another at a time when an error message was issued by the meter,
this error message is only saved in the meter. You can download these error messages to the voice unit in order to save and
retrieve them there. They are sorted by date in the voice unit. Any error messages already saved are retained as long as the
total does not exceed 20. If there were more than 20 error messages following the download, the oldest messages are erased.
To download error messages from the meter, proceed as follows:
If the meter is on, turn it off.
Turn the voice unit on and select Menu 5.3. Point the infrared windows towards one another (See Chapter 7.3).
Now (not earlier) turn the meter on in the same way as for sending data to a PC.
Press the M button and the S button, that is to say the two buttons to the right and left of the Test button that you nor-
mally use to start a blood glucose test, at the same time (you hear a beep).
When the voice unit and meter have contact with one another, the meter sends the error messages to the voice unit. After-
wards the voice unit turns the meter off and reads the newest error message aloud.
The Up button takes you to the next older error message, and the Down button back to the next newer one.
