preamble
This command sets the length of the signal preamble that is used at the start of a
802.11b/g data transmission.
Syntax
preamble [long | short]
long - Sets the preamble to long (192 microseconds).
short - Sets the preamble to short (96 microseconds).
Default Setting
Short-or-Long
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Wireless - 802.11b/g)
Command Usage
Using a short preamble instead of a long preamble can increase data
throughput on the access point, but requires that all clients can support a
short preamble.
Set the preamble to long to ensure the access point can support all 802.11b
and 802.11g clients.
Example
antenna control
This command selects the use of two diversity antennas or a single antenna for the
radio interface.
Note: This access point does not support the use of optional external antennas.
Syntax
antenna control <diversity | left | right>
diversity - The radio uses both antennas in a diversity system. Select this
method when the Antenna ID is set to “Default Antenna” to use the access
point's integrated antennas.
left - The radio only uses the antenna on the left side (the side farthest from
the access point LEDs).
right - The radio only uses the antenna on the right side (the side closest
to the access point LEDs).
