3.3. You see a jumper on the PCB. Plug the jumper in the other
pair of holes.
4. Installing the detector
4.1. On the outside of the base plate are two lines – one long and
one short.
4.2. Place the detector on the base plate so that the line on the
detector meets the short line on the base plate.
4.3. Press the detector lightly against the base plate and turn it in a
clockwise direction until the line on the detector is opposite the
long line on the base plate.
Test
1. If the detector is correctly connected to the power supply, the red LED
on the detector flashes every 4 to 6 seconds following a delay of
about 60 seconds. If the LED does not flash, either the cabling is
wrong or the detector is defective.
2. Test the detector by exposing it to a hot jet of air (65–80°C).
2.1. E.g., switch on a hairdryer and wait until the air jet has
reached a stable hot temperature.
2.2. Direct the air jet at close range to the detector. An alarm is
triggered with 30 seconds.
2.3. Remove the hairdryer immediately and check whether the red
LEDs are switched on continuously.
2.4. If the detector does not trigger an alarm in the first 30 seconds
of the tests, its sensitivity is set too low. In that case, return it to
the dealer.
2.5. Reset the detector using a relay of the alarm panel to remove
the power from the detector or manually by removing the
detector from the base plate and replacing it on the base plate
after a view seconds.
Reset
After an alarm the detector needs to be reset. This can be done by the
alarm panel or manually. Using the alarm panel the power supply must be
controlled by a relay. After an alarm you simply deactivate the relay for a
view seconds. Manual reset is done by simply removing the detector from
its base plate and replacing it after a view seconds.
