Handle Calls Using the Speaker
The Speaker allows you to speak to someone without using the handset or headset. The
Audio Mode for your phone is set to “Speaker” by default. See the Audio Mode
options.
Step Action
Dial using the speaker:
1. Press the Speaker key and enter a number from dial tone.
Answer a call using the speaker:
1. Press the Speaker key or the line/call appearance key.
Switch between the speaker and handset in speaker audio mode:
1.
• Lift the handset to go back to the handset.
• Press the Speaker key to switch back to the speaker.
Switch between the speaker and the headset in speaker/headset audio mode:
1. Press the Speaker key.
Handle Calls Using a Headset
Ensure that you have selected a headset audio mode by accessing the Options list. For
more information on how to set this audio option in your phone, see the Audio Mode
options in Appendix A.
Step Action
1. Plug the headset into the jack.
2. Press the Speaker key or the line/call appearance key to get dial tone or to
answer an incoming call.
Depending on the audio mode selected from the Options list, a dial tone or an
incoming call will be received on either the headset or the speaker.

End a Call
Step Action
1. From a connected call:
• Press the Goodbye key.
Or
• Place the handset back on hook if connected through the handset.
