4. The master station sends out the subscriber ID.
5. The calling sub-station detects this ID and answers (off-hook).
The called sub-station sends an outgoing a-bit.
6. The master station receives the a-bit from the called sub-station and
sends the outgoing b-bit.
7. All sub-stations receive the b-bit.
8. There is a connection between the called sub-station and the master
station.
For all other sub-stations, the link is occupied.
