The following drawing shows the most important function blocks relevant for
Ethernet-over-SDH transport.
The following Ethernet-specific functions are used for transport purposes:
• Ethernet PHY
• Ethernet MAC
• Ethernet Encaps
• Ethernet Virtual Concatenation Group
The configuration options available are listed in the following:
Ethernet PHY
• Duplex mode and status (half / full / auto)
• Transmission rate and status
• Auto-negotiation mode (on/off), status
• Cross-over mode and status (MDI, MDIX, auto)
Ethernet MAC
• Link activation (up / down)
• MAC address
• MTU size
• Ethernet mapping (VC-12, VC-3)
• Pause mode
Ethernet Encapsulation
• Encapsulation type GFP-F
• Frame Check Sequence
• Received/expected User Payload identifier
• Link Loss Forwarding
- Consequent action
- LLF signalling
- Persistency
