1. Introduction Thank you for choosing an A2B Electronics product. We have made every effort to make you as a customer satisfied with the performance and features of the product for years to come. The ETA-100 and the EFTA1-T2 are high quality Professional Digital Terrestrial Receivers intended for use in any Cable-TV or SMATV head end. All functions are integrated in the extremely compact units that easily can be mounted in different ways.
2. Unpacking the unit ETA-100 and EFTA1-T2 are delivered with all necessary software to enable all the installations. The files are on the included CD and a PC or PALM PDA can be used as a control unit.
3. Error Red colour indicates that the incoming signal contains errors. AV Indicates that audio and video is decoded. Red light indicates errors (EFTA1-T2).
4. Settings with PALM PDA This section describes how to make a quick installation following the step by step instructions below. See to that the control software files delivered on the CD-ROM are loaded into the PALM. For more information on how this is done, please consult your PALM user manual. 1. Connect the module (EFTA1-T2 or ETA-100) to a DC power supply (the ESP-100 or EPP-100). Then connect your PALM PDA to the module with a PALM Hotsync cable to the RS-232 serial port on the front of the module.
4. This menu contains settings of the tuner parameters, channel or frequency and bandwidth. Enter appropriate values and click [Next]. 5. Now choose which service you would like to use. Click [Next]. This menu gives you information about the name of the service, encryption etc. 6. Choose the language of the audio and video streams you want to use. Click [Next]. 7. The installation is now completed and audio and video from the correct program should be present on the output.
. Your settings are now ready, but there are additional settings under [Options]. Click [Options] and [Country]. The menus [Smartcard] and [CA Module] are only shown for ETA-100. 9. Under the menu [Country] you can change the language and regional settings from the default settings. Click [OK] and then [Decoder]. 10. The [Decoder] menu allows you to choose between different audio and video formats. Click [OK]. For EFTA1-T2 click [Software] and continue at paragraph 13.
Paragraphs 11-12 is for ETA-100 only 11. Under the menu [Smartcard] you can read smartcard authorization data if smartcard is inserted and approved. Click [Close] and then [CA module]. 12. If a CA-module is inserted into the CA-slot the CA parameters can be read. Click [Close]. The menu [Software] gives information about the firmware version that is downloaded into the ETA-100. Hardware revision can also be read. The menu [About] shows information about the control software.

5. Settings with PC This section describes how to make a first time installation for PC following the step by step instructions below. See to that the control software files delivered on the CD-ROM are installed on your PC. Connect the module (EFTA1-T2 or ETA-100) to a DC power supply (the ESP-100 or EPP-100). Connect your PC to the module with a null modem cable from a serial port on the PC to the RS-232 port on the module. Choose the correct COM port and press [OK] and following menu should appear.
Below you find description of the different settings in the main menu. 1. RECEIVER Channels can be selected if CCIR channel table is used. For other channel tables the corresponding frequency should be entered. Enter also the channel bandwidth and check that the Eb/No reading shows a value higher than 20. If reading is lower, check and adjust the antenna installation. Enter [Program receiver] to program the values to the EFTA1-T2 or the ETA-100. 2.
6. Installation The module (EFTA1-T2 or ETA-100) can be installed either stand alone forming a complete channel or it can be installed in a base unit (EBU-100) together with any of our high quality VSB RF-modulators. Before connecting power to the module, make sure that all other connections are made. If a stereo RF-modulator such as the EVA-210 is available, connect Right and Left audio outputs to the corresponding inputs on the EVA-210.

1. Introduktion Tack för att ni har valt en A2B Electronics produkt. Denna produkt är utvecklad för att ni som kund skall vara nöjd med dess prestanda och funktioner under många år. ETA-100 och EFTA1-T2 är högkvalitativa professionella mottagare för digitala marksändningar. De är avsedda att användas i alla Kabel-TV och SMATV nät. Alla funktioner är integrerade i en extremt kompakt enhet. EFTA1-T2 är en professionell digital terrestriell mottagare för okrypterade kanaler.
2. Uppackning av enheten Enheten (EFTA1-T2 resp. ETA-100) levereras med all nödvändig mjukvara för att kunna göra alla inställningar. Filerna finns på den medföljande CD skivan och som kontrollenhet kan antingen en PC eller en PALM handdator användas.

Anslut därefter din PALM handdator till RS-232 kontakten på modulen med en PALM Hotsync kabel. 2. Klicka på EFTA eller ETA ikonen under A2B Control menyn på din PALM.
4. Denna meny innehåller tunerinställningar, kanal, frekvens och bandbredd. Ange önskade värden och klicka på [Next]. 5. Ange nu vilken service (program) som önskar användas. Klicka på [Next]. Denna meny anger programmets namn om den är krypterad etc. 6. Välj språk på ljud och textningsspråk. Klicka på [Next]. 7. Installationen är nu klar och ljud och bild från rätt program skall finnas på mottagarens ljud och videoutgångar. Klicka på [Again] om du vill ändra dina inställningar.
8. Dina inställningar är nu klara men du kan göra ytterligare inställningar under [Options] . Klicka på [Options] och [Country]. Menyerna [Smartcard] och [CA Module] visas endast för ETA-100. 9. Under menyn [Country] kan du ändra språk och regionala inställningar från de som är förinställda. Klicka på [OK] och sedan [Decoder]. 10. [Decoder] menyn tillåter ändring mellan olika ljud och bildformat. Klicka på [OK]. För EFTA1-T2, gå vidare till menyn [Software] i paragraf 13.
Paragraf 11-12 på denna sida är endast för ETA-100 11. Under menyn [Smartcard] kan auktorisationsdata läsas ut för ditt programkort. Klicka på [Close] och därefter [CA module]. 12. 5. Inställningar med PC Detta kapitel beskriver hur man gör alla inställningar av mottagaren med hjälp av en PC. Se till att filen för kontrollmjukvaran till PC finns nedladdade och installerade på din PC innan du börjar med inställningarna. Anslut modulen (EFTA1-T2 eller ETA-100) till en DC-spänning (ESP-100 eller EPP-100). Anslut sedan din PC till mottagaren med en s.k. nollmodem kabel från en serieport på din PC till RS-232 porten på modulen.
Nedan finns beskrivning av de olika funktionerna under denna meny. 1. RECEIVER För kanaltabell enligt CCIR/ES kan respektive kanal väljas utan att ange frekvens. För andra standarder skall frekvens motsvarande den önskade kanalen anges. Ange bandbredd, klicka på [Program receiver] och kontrollera att Eb/No värdet är högre än 20. Om Eb/No värdet är lägre, kontrollera och justera antenninstallationen. . [Program receiver] måste väljas varje gång nya värden skall läsas in i EFTA1-T2 eller ETA-100. 2.
6. Installation EFTA1-T2 resp. ETA-100 kan installeras antingen som en helt fristående enhet som kan anslutas till existerande eller nya modulatorer. Den kan med fördel också monteras i en basenhet (EBU-100) tillsammans med någon av våra högkvalitativa RFmodulatorer. Innan ni ansluter matningsspänning till enheten, tillse att alla övriga anslutningar är gjorda. Om en RF-modulator med stereoingång finns tillgänglig, koppla höger och vänster kanal till motsvarande ingångar på dessa (EVA-200/210).
