7) BURNERASSEMBLY
‐Nowproceedtoremovetheburnerassembly.
a. RemovethefivewidepanheadPhilipsscrewsholdingtheburnertothecombustionchamber.
Therearethreeatthetopoftheburner.Therearetwoatthebottomoftheburnertotheback
ofthecombustionchamber.Referto
Figure6.4forthelocationofthesescrews.
b. Removetheburner.Itmaybehardtotakeout,sotrythefollowing:
i. Withpliers,graspbetweentheovalairventsinthefrontoftheburneronthefarleftandpull
firmly.Repeatontherightvent.
ii. Nowpullfromthecenterandit
shouldslideoutreadily.
c. Inspectthegasket.(Minorsurfacetearsareallowable.Majorseparationsarenotacceptable.
8) CLEANTHEBURNER
‐Useasafedegreaser.
a. Protecttheburnergasketfromdirectwaterpressure.IFthegasketbecomescompromised,
pleasecontactthetechnicalservicedepartmentforfurtherassistance.
b. Thoroughlysaturatetheburnerwiththecleaningsolutionfromthetop,downthroughtheslots,
aswellastheopeningsinthefrontoftheburneruntiltheburnerissoakingwet.
c. Lettheburnersitfor5minutes.
d. Removetheburnerfromthesolution.Settheburner
inasinkinitsnormaluprightpositionand
washtheburnerwithahighflowofwaterdownintotheslots,startingatthebackandmoving
forward.Again,ensurethatnocontactismadewiththegaskets.
e. Usecompressedairtoclearexcessivewaterfromtheburner
afterrinsing.Inspectthegasket.
(Minorsurfacetearsareallowable.Majorseparationsarenotacceptable)
9) FAN
‐Thefanisprobablycoatedwithdustaswell.
a. Placeatowelatthebottomoftheheatexchangertocoverthesquareporttothefan.This
towelwillcatchallthedustblowninthenextstep.
b. Usecompressedairtoblowintothefan.It
willrotateanddustwillflyoutofthefanhousing
intothetowelabove.
