Gradient Rotation and Mapping
When you apply a gradient, it is mapped locally by default (which means
that the gradient progresses across each letter), and its orientation is verti-
cal (which means that the gradient progresses from left to right). You can
change both of these defaults, if you desire.
To control gradient mapping:

From the mapping list, select an option: Local, Container, or Reflection.
 Local applies the gradient to each character individually.
 Container applies the gradient across the entire object
(bounding box).
To control gradient orientation:

From the orientation list, select an option: Vertical, Horizontal, or Radial.
Vertical orientation
Horizontal orientation
Radial orientation
 Vertical (default, as shown earlier) applies gradient from left to right.
 Horizontal applies gradient from top to bottom.
NOTE Reflection will
not be discussed in
this book.
