Gradient Rotation and Mapping
When you apply a gradient, it is mapped locally by default (which means
that the gradient progresses across each letter), and its orientation is verti-
cal (which means that the gradient progresses from left to right). You can
change both of these defaults, if you desire.
To control gradient mapping:
From the mapping list, select an option: Local, Container, or Reflection.
Local applies the gradient to each character individually.
Container applies the gradient across the entire object
(bounding box).
To control gradient orientation:
From the orientation list, select an option: Vertical, Horizontal, or Radial.
Vertical orientation
Horizontal orientation
Radial orientation
Vertical (default, as shown earlier) applies gradient from left to right.
Horizontal applies gradient from top to bottom.
NOTE Reflection will
not be discussed in
this book.
