4DDynamics IIIDScanner based
on the Primesense 3DDepth Sensor
The PrimeSense 3D Depth Sensor is an end-to-end so-
luon that enables devices to perceive the world in 3D,
and to translate these percepons into a synchronized
image, the same way that people do, thus harnessing
the power of nnatural interacon. Making this soluon
praccal, convenient, intuive and easy to use.
The 4DDynamics scanning soware turns the sen-
sor into a fully funconal 3DScanner. Aer you have
nished scanning it also allows you to edit the scanned
images and merge the dierent images in order to
create a high quality 3D model.
This is an easy and inexpensive way to get started with
IIID scanning.
System Requirements
Before starng to unpack and begin the installaon,
make sure that the allocated host PC fullls the fol-
lowing minimum requirements:
OS: Windows 7/8, 64-bit
Ports: 1 USB 2.0 connecon available.
(USB 3.0 does not always assure backwards
compability!)
CPU: Intel i5 generaon, or beer.

Unpacking, soware
installaon and Connecng
1. To install the soware go to the following website
hp://products.3ddynamics.eu
2. Log in or create a new account by lling in your e-
mailaddress and password.
3. Aer you logged in, go to «Acvate Device» by
selecng this at the top.
4. Fill in your “serial number” which you can nd
on the 3D Depth Sensor. Click on the «Acvate»
buon to acvate your device. During device ac-
vaon, your serial number is being veried, linked
to your account and then licensed to run on your
computer.
5. Aer acvaon you are redirected to the download
page where you can download the soware (follow
the instrucons on the screen)
6. Aer downloading the soware install the soware
(follow the instrucons during installaon)
7. Before starng the program always rst connect
the 3D Depth Sensor to a USB port 2.0 It is impor-
tant to note that USB 3.0 ports, commonly recogni-
zed by their blue coloring instead of the standard
black, are prone to USB communicaon problems.
We therefore recommend you never connect your
sensor to your PC on a USB 3.0 or blue port.
8. Start the program (when starng the program for
the rst me, It is important to be connected to
the internet.)
9. Start scanning (follow instrucons on the video
tutorial on www.4DDynamics.com)
