INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR VANITY TOPS WITH VESSEL SINKS
STEP 1: Vanity Preparation
Ensure that the vanity base cabinet on which the vanity top & vessel sink are to be placed are level and properly secured to the wall. Your
vanity top is made from heavy stone material and requires solid support. If the vanity is a “frameless” design, it is recommended that
additional support be added. Additional wood support should be 1-inch x 1-inch wood sections that run along the top inside edge of the
sides and front of the vanity. The wood sections should be affixed to the vanity using construction-grade adhesive and wood screws that
do not protrude through any exposed sides.
STEP 2: Pre-Drilled Holes
Your Tuscany vanity top has three pre-drilled faucet holes on the underside of the top. These partially pre-drilled faucet holes are labeled
on the topside of the vessel top with YELLOW DOTS as #1 (left faucet placement), #2 (center faucet placement) & #3 (right faucet
placement). Determine the location you would like your faucet to be located and proceed to knock out the hole as follows:
Place a flat head screwdriver or a ¾-inch or smaller chisel directly on the center “X” on the yellow dot and tap with a hammer to
remove the granite section,
Clean away any rough edges with the chisel or screwdriver and verify that your faucet supply lines easily fit through the opening
(NOTE: If you are using a wall mount faucet, you will not to need to knock out any of the faucet holes and may simply remove
the yellow dots).
STEP 3: Top Installation
Apply a thin bead of 100% silicone sealant on the cabinet-top edges. Place the vanity top on the vanity with an overhang of ½-inch on the
left and right edges. Allow the sealant to dry per the manufacturer’s instructions.
STEP 4: Faucet and Drain Assembly Installation
Install the faucet and drain assembly per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Note: Side splash, faucet and drain assembly are NOT included.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE FOR GRANITE & MARBLE VANITY TOPS AND SINKS
Your new natural granite or marble vanity top has been factory polished to a smooth finish and has had the initial protective sealant applied.
To properly maintain the surface, the following procedures are recommended:
Reseal your vanity top no less than one time per year. Before applying the sealant, all exposed areas should be completely clean and dry.
A high-quality stone sealant is available for purchase at your local Menards store. Follow the instructions on the sealant container;
For routine maintenance and cleaning, you may wipe off and clean your vanity top with soap and water. Once per week, or as needed
with a heavier use, use a stone spray cleaner or polish, either of which are available from your local Menards store. Follow the
instructions on the stone cleaner or polish container;
Place protective pads on the bottoms of any heavy objects such as pottery, vases or other objects that may scratch the stone surface;
Liquid spills, such as alcohol, medications, etc., should be cleaned promptly. Some liquids with high-acid content can etch stone surfaces
if left for any length of time. Common products that should be promptly cleaned are shaving cream, toothpaste, perfume, cologne, nail
polish, nail polish remover, hair coloring or perm products, shampoo, drain opener and toilet bowl cleaner;
Avoid using abrasive cleaners or rough cleaning pads. If necessary, a soft buffing pad can be used to remove stubborn materials that may
have a become affixed to the top;
Do not stand or place extremely heavy objects on the top.
Your vitreous china sink is incredibly durable and resistant to stains. Here are tips for keeping your sink clean.
Clean the topside and outer surface areas of the sink with mild soap and warm water
Wipe the entire surface completely with a clean, soft cloth
You may use soft abrasive cleaners when necessary to clean the sink
Do not use strong abrasive cleaners or solvents as they will scratch and dull the surface
If the surface becomes excessively dirty, use a general-purpose cleaner
A method to remove hard water mark, grease or soap scum deposits is with a non-abrasive bathroom cleaner found at Menards and at
most home improvement stores
