Insulating Sprays

1. Product Description
Scotch Brand Insulating Sprays are electrical grade,
fast drying sealers and insulators in a pressurized can.
These sealers protect surfaces against weather,
moisture, corrosion, oil, alkalies and acids. The
sprays can afford easy access to hard-to-reach spots.
Three sprays are available in the following colors:
• 1601 - Clear
• 1602 - Red
• 1603 - Black
2. Applications
Use Insulating Spray sealer to spray over insulation
on wire and cable splices, as a general-purpose sealer
or for touch-up insulation on motor windings and
frames.

4. Application Techniques
Shake well. Open and shut valve COMPLETELY
with forefinger when spraying. Keep fingertip behind
spray head to avoid forming droplets on painted
surface. Partial valve depression reduces pressure and
causes faulty spray.
Absolute Must: Hold can no closer than 10 to 12
inches from surface being sprayed. To prevent
clogging, turn can upside down and spray short jet of
clear gas after each job. Do not expose to extreme hot
or cold.
5. Maintenance
When necessary, remove sprayhead. Replace by
holding finger over orifice to prevent accidental
spray. If spray valve yields irregular pattern or fails to
spray, inspect orifice for residues and scrape off with
fingernail or soft object. Then twist spray head one-
half turn.
6. Availability
Scotch Brand Insulating Sprays are available in a 16
oz. can size with 12 cans per case and may be
purchased from your local electrical distributor.
