Optime has been viewed as a standard in the
hearing protection industry. The Optime is divided by protection
levels 95, 98, 101, and 105 dBA. All you have to do is match the
Optime number to the eight-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA)
noise exposure of the worker (see back cover). For example, Peltor
Optime 98 earmuffs would be recommended for eight-hour TWA
noise exposures up to but not exceeding 98 dBA.
