Static AES Key/Open System Authentication
The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) was selected by National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in October 2000 as an up-
grade from the previous DES stan dard. AES uses a 128-bit block cipher
al go rithm and en cryp tion tech nique for protecting computerized in for -
ma tion. With the ability to use even larger 192-bit and 256-bit keys, if
nec es sary, it offers higher se cu ri ty against brute-force attack than the old
56-bit DES keys.
