30 CHAPTER 2: INSTALLING AND CONNECTING THE NIC
The following table shows the cable requirements and
maximum network cable lengths for the RJ-45 port.
To connect the RJ-45 port:
1 Plug the RJ-45 connector on the twisted-pair network
cable into the RJ-45 port on the NIC backplate.
2 Connect the other end of the network cable to an
active network port.
The next step is to install the network driver.
Go to Chapter 3, “Installing NIC Software in Windows,”
or Chapter 4, “Installing the NetWare Client and
Server Drivers.”
