Here’s how to set up your Ellie Universal L-Bracket for use: 1 - Base plate – can be used on its own 2 - Vertical Aspect with gap for improved cable access 4 3 3 - Extender bars to create the optimal base length 4 - ¼”-20 stainless steel mounting screw 5 – Dual ended mini tool with Allen keys 1 2 5 Base plate (1) can be used as a long Arca-Swiss quick release plate on its own. Sloped Edge should be at the back of the camera, with the rubber pads against the bottom of the camera.
Insert the extender bars (3) into the side of the base plate. Position the vertical aspect so it sits against the side of the camera (or in your preferred position), with side ports accessible. Tighten the screws in the base to hold the extender bars firmly in place. The extender bars should not be able to move when Ellie is in use. If access to the side ports is blocked, loosen the mounting screw in the base plate, and adjust the position of Ellie, forward or backward, for optimal access.
Ellie can be used as a type of rocker mount on a tripod’s ballhead. To use as a rocker, remove vertical aspect, attach to base plate to create a downward L shape, tighten all screws in place. On tripod, position the ballhead with the clamp in portrait position. Attach Ellie to your camera or lens mount, then clamp Ellie’s vertical aspect to the tripod head with the base plate and camera upright. Maintain a firm hold on the camera until Ellie is securely tightened in place. DO... DON’T...
