4 First Aid Measures
Ingestion (Swallowed): Rinse mouth and dilute with fluids. Call physician, poison control center or the WD-
40 Safety Hotline at 1-888-324-7596.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting upper and lower
eyelids occasionally. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Skin Contact: Wash with soap and water for several minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and wash
before reuse. If irritation develops and persists, get medical attention.
Inhalation (Breathing): Move to fresh air. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Contact with the blue deodorant tablet may cause moderate eye and
skin irritation.
Indication of Immediate Medical Attention/Special Treatment Needed: Immediate medical attention is
generally not required.
5 Fire Fighting Measures
Suitable (and unsuitable) Extinguishing Media: Flood with water or foam. Do not use dry chemicals,
carbon dioxide or halogenated extinguishing agents.
Specific Hazards Arising from the Chemical: Heating the deodorant tablets will generate oxides of carbon
and sulfur.
Special Protective Equipment and Precautions for Fire-Fighters: Firefighters should always wear positive
pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
6 Accidental Release Measures
Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures: Eliminate all sources of
ignition and ventilate area. Wear appropriate protective clothing (see Section 8).
Methods and Materials for Containment/Cleanup: For small spills of Deodorant (one retail container or
less) flush down drain with plenty of water. For larger spills, collect and place in a sealable container for later
disposal.
7 Handling and Storage
Precautions for Safe Handling: Do not touch tablet. Avoid breathing dust from product. Do not get in eyes,
on skin or clothing. Wear rubber gloves when handling. Wash thoroughly after use. DO NOT mix with
anything other than water. Keep away from heat, sparks, pilot lights, hot surfaces and open flames. Keep out
of the reach of children.
